"Gesturing toward Something like Archival Loss"
The first zine in this exhibit – “Gesturing toward Something like Archival Loss” – is image-based zine composed of images and objects from my childhood and adolescent years. My hope for this zine is to express the confusing and embodied relationships I had, and still have, with the people, places, buildings, and absences from my childhood that still inspire the work I do and perform. Inspired heavily by the work of Anjali Arondekar, this zine ultimately asks, “How can we curate and compose from a space(s) of absence?”
